Hey there! I'm Elizabeth Spencer, and I write YA fantasy and steampunk. My first novel, Justice Unending, was just published by Evernight Teen. (Woo!) You can read more about that, as well as the short stories I've published, on my Published Works page.

Or, hey! Maybe you just want to know more about me. You can read about that on myAbout page. Or you can drop by my blog, Fairies, Zombies, and Agent Queries, where I post about writing.

NEWS

JUSTICE UNENDING: Now Available in Paperback!

Not a fan of e-books? I've got you covered.

JUSTICE UNENDING can now be purchased in paperback format from Amazon and CreateSpace. So if you're the kind of person who prefers reading something with the heft and new-page smell of a real book, have at it!

And if you aren't, that's cool, too! It's available for all your favorite e-readers, too:

All of these links (and more!) can be found on my page about the book.

JUSTICE UNENDING is a YA fantasy about a young woman possessed by the spirit of an assassin who's determined to bring down the government--and is going to use her body to accomplish this. You can read an excerpt on the Evernight Teen website. But if you'd rather not wait, here's the official blurb!

Within the walls of the Bastion, it's an honor to become a host for an Unending—the bodiless, immortal spirits who rule the country.

But for Faye, it meant her sister would have to die.

When Faye sneaks into the Mother Duchess's manor, she just wanted to see her sister one last time. Instead, Faye finds a manor in chaos, a murdered man, and an Unending assassin named Aris who needs a new body—Faye’s body—to bring the Bastion to its knees.

Now Faye's harboring the Bastion's most wanted criminal. And if she wants to live, she'll have to escape the Duchess and her immortals, all while keeping Aris from harming anyone else.

There's just one problem—Aris is not the villain. And now Faye is the only one who can help her stop the Duchess before anyone else—and especially Faye—has to die for the Unendings' whims.

JUSTICE UNENDING: Now Available!

It will be available on Barnes and Noble very soon. And if you prefer paperbacks? That's all right, too! Paperback versions will be available in a few months.

2015 Parsec Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Story Contest: 3rd Place!

I'm happy to announce that my (as of yet unpublished) short story, Voices from Antiquity, placed third in the 2015 Parsec Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Story Contest!

This is a contest, not a publication, so unfortunately I can't direct anyone to a place where you can read it. But with any hope, I'll be resolving that soon! In the meantime, I've updated my Publications page and have written a bit more about this on my blog.

Esoteric Wildlife: Now Available on Triptych Tales!

It's been a few months since I had news to report, but I'm happy to announce that my third published short story, Esoteric Wildlife, is now available on the Triptych Tales website. Check it out!

It's a quirky piece for me--it's a contemporary, real-world, urban fantasy about a government contractor who's been hired by the Esoteric Wildlife Division, which happens to be doing some... non-traditional research.
